Handmark is a writing tool for people who publish under their own name in the age of AI. It splits the work the way copyright law splits it: AI acts as research staff — generating idea clouds, gathering sources within the scope you set, analyzing the structure of documents you admire, and critiquing your drafts against rules you wrote — while every word of the finished work is typed by you.

In Cueva de las Manos, above the Río Pinturas in Patagonia, more than eight hundred hands were stenciled onto the rock some nine thousand years ago. Someone pressed a palm to the wall and blew ochre around it. The pigment landed everywhere except where the hand was. What remains is not a drawing of a hand but proof that a particular person stood there and chose to leave a mark that says only: this was me.

Those stencils are the oldest signatures we have, and they work the way a signature should. No one else could have made them, and they still hold their meaning after everything else about the maker is gone. Handmark takes its name from that gesture. A certificate from us makes the same claim in a newer medium: these words were made by a hand that was there.

The process runs in guided stages with your decisions as the gates: you prioritize the ideas, scope the research, arrange the outline, and resolve each critique, and nothing in the tool will ever write in your voice. Every step is recorded in a tamper-evident ledger, so when you export, your work ships with a signed certificate — built on the C2PA standard behind Content Credentials — showing exactly what AI contributed and proving the expression is yours.

The result is work you can publish, defend, and register without flinching: your words, provably yours.
